The Inner Act Program, developed by Rae Tattenbaum, is a ground-breaking, proven approach that combines traditional therapeutic techniques with the latest tools in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback therapy and one-on-one coaching. The Program’s six-part integrated system unlocks the brain’s amazing abilities for healing and optimization.
Traditional therapies for these types of issues include verbal (talk) therapy, medication, or “cognitive” approaches where you attempt to consciously change your reaction when you are in a difficult situation or state. Unfortunately, these approaches are a little like telling someone who lives in a house that’s on fire that the next time they get burned they can talk about it, or take a pill for the pain, or just learn ways to avoid the fire. These approaches do not address the “fire” itself, that the brain is stuck in an unsuccessful pattern that the conscious mind cannot change.
Neurofeedback Therapy is one of the key ingredients that distinguishes Inner Act’s program from other therapies. It is a powerful tool that directly accesses the brain, training it towards balance and optimal functioning. The “feedback” in Neurofeedback continuously gives the brain millisecond-accurate mirroring of what it is doing, in a way that interrupts fixed patterns and guides the brain to find new, more successful patterns. This processes bypasses the child or adult’s conscious and rational mind, intervening without judgment with the activity of the brain.
“Our work is about variably in the brain. Variability occurs during inattention, anxiety, fear, restless thoughts, rumination and other states that medications address temporarily, but Neurofeedback is able to go to the source of the variability, show the brain what it is doing wrong, and train it to do things a better way from then on.”
